CLALLAM COUNTY – Clallam County Deputies got a call just before midnight Friday reporting a theft at Dungeness Creamery in Sequim. The business owner reported that someone had stolen the money jar from the milk stand outside.
Because the owner provided a vehicle and suspect description, it didn’t take Deputies long to find him. At about 12:15 am, they detained 39-year-old Jonathan Welker of Sequim at a gas station in Carlsborg.
Deputies could see the money jar on the driver’s side floor board. They could also see drug paraphernalia in plain view inside Welker’s vehicle.
After getting a search warrant, Deputies recovered the suspected controlled substances, money stolen from the Dungeness Creamery, along with ice cream, cheese, and eggs.
Welker was booked into Clallam County Jail suspicion of Theft, Possession and Intent to Deliver.
The Dungeness Creamery was able to recover everything that was stolen except for the ice cream, which had melted.
