CARLSBORG – Clallam County PUD water customers will see an increase in their bills starting this fall. Then increases every year for the next four years.
PUD commissioners yesterday approved the new rate plan. It calls for a 15 percent increase to their monthly water bill beginning in September. Then every March, the rate will go up another 4.75 percent through 2028.
It means the average rate for water customers will jump about eleven dollars a month starting in October to just under $88 dollars per month. When the round of increases ends in 2028, the water rate will be just over $110 dollars per month.
The decision came after staff and commissioners mulled more than half a dozen different options. The increases came after recommendations for ways the PUD can keep up with maintenance on its systems.
