The Roughriders girls soccer team took on a good Class 3A Bainbridge Spartan team last night and it was all Spartans winning 5-0. The Spartans, who controlled the ball about 80% of the time in the Roughrider end of the field, had several more chances to score but sophomore goalie Kennedy Rognlien made some tough saves. The Roughriders did play much better in the 2nd half.
The Roughriders game with Forks Thursday night has been cancelled. The Roughriders will host Kingston next Tuesday at 6:45 pm.

There is high school boys tennis action today. Sequim is at Bainbridge and Port Angeles is at Bremerton with the first serves at 4 pm.

The Peninsula Pirates soccer teams open up NWAC Northern Conference play today hosting Everett. The #1-ranked women will kick off at 2 pm and the #3-ranked men will kick off at 4:15 pm.

High school football action is back this Friday night. The Roughriders, coming off their 45-21 win over Blaine, travel to state-power Anacortes. Last year, the Seahawks beat the Roughriders 57-0. The Seahawks lost in the 2nd round of the state playoffs to North Kitsap 10 -7. Newsradio KONP will start the pre-game show at 6:45 pm with the kickoff at 7 pm. Oly Archibald and Bill Bates will have the live play by play. The Sequim Wolves will have the night off because Tenino cancelled the game. The Wolves will travel to Bainbridge next Thursday night and you can hear that game on Newsradio KONP.
