SEQUIM – The residents of a home near Sequim have been displaced after a fire.
Last Thursday night, Clallam Fire District Three was sent to a structure fire at 1236 Holland Road in Sequim. The reporting party stated an attached shop was on fire but did not give any further details.
Crews found the attached shop was fully involved with fire venting out of the garage doors.
Crews were able to quickly get those flames knocked down, but fire had extended into the attic of the residence as well as through various vent spaces into the house. Crews pulled down the ceiling and ventilated the structure until all fire was confirmed out and visibility was clear.
The house is occupied by two residents who told crews no one else was in the house. The residents were in the house at the time of the fire and were alerted by a rate of rise heat detector. Currently, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The residents were displaced and are staying in a hotel.
