PORT ANGELES — In high school swimming action, the Port Angeles Roughriders dominated Klahowya, 127-37.

First-place finishes:

  • 200 Medley Relay: Brooke St. Luise, Lizzy Shaw, Amayah Nelson, and Danika Asgeirsson
  • 200 Freestyle Relay: Sally Kasten, Brooke St. Luise, Lynzee Reid, and Lizzy Shaw
  • 400 Freestyle Relay: Danika Asgeirsson, Emerson Dubois, Amayah Nelson, and Lynzee Reid
  • 200 Freestyle: Danika Asgeirsson
  • 200 Individual Medley: Lynzee Reid
  • 50 Freestyle: Brooke St. Luise
  • 100 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke: Lizzy Shaw
  • 500 Freestyle: Amayah Nelson

In tennis action, the Roughriders swept Kingston 7-0, finishing the regular season 12-2 as runners-up to North Kitsap.

Singles results:

  • Tate Alton won 6-0, 6-1
  • Sky Gelder won 6-0, 6-1
  • Garrett Buerer won 6-0, 6-0

Doubles results:

  • Luke Flodstrom and Nathan Basden won 6-0, 6-0
  • Austin Worthington and Keatyn Hoch won 6-0, 6-1
  • Grant Butterworth and Carston Siebel won 6-1, 6-2
  • Liam Miller and Zach Neff won 6-0, 6-0

In soccer action, the Roughriders lost a heartbreaker, 1-0, to 8th-ranked North Kitsap.

Meanwhile, the Sequim Wolves enjoyed a decisive 5-0 victory over Olympic. Kiley Winter opened the scoring with an early penalty kick, followed by a goal from Sasha Yada, assisted by Harper Moore, giving Sequim a 2-0 lead at halftime. Yada struck again in the second half, with an assist from Winter, and Raimey Brewer added to the scoreline, assisted by Laila Sundin. Ruby Horgan capped the win with a final goal, again assisted by Winter. Goalkeeper Kalli Grove earned the shutout.

In volleyball action, North Kitsap swept Port Angeles 3-0, and Sequim swept Olympic 3-0.

In college basketball exhibition today, the Peninsula Pirates host Camosun College of Victoria. The women tip off at 2 p.m., and the men at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the women will tip off at 8 a.m., and the men at 10 a.m. Admission is free for all four games.

In soccer action, the Pirates will travel to Whatcom tomorrow, with the men kicking off at noon and the women at 2:15 p.m. Congratulations to Shawna Larson of the Pirates, named NWAC Offensive Player of the Week.

In high school football action tonight, the Squalicum Storm (3-3) will visit Civic Field to take on the 0-6 Roughriders. Fans will get to watch one of the top players in the state, running back/defensive back Marcus Nixon, who turned down offers from Army and Navy to commit to Eastern Washington. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

The Sequim Wolves (2-1 in league play) will host Olympic (2-1). The Trojans have the biggest and top-ranked offensive line in the league. The game will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio and streamed on myclallamcounty.com.

The Wolves will need a big game from defensive linemen like Senior Brayden White against a strong Olympic running game

The Firehouse Grill pre-game show starts at 5:30 p.m., featuring the Wolves Locker Room Show with Senior Paul Burrows and Junior Jericho Julmist. The Ian Henley Show will follow, then the Enemy Coaches Show with Olympic Head Coach Sal Quitesvis. The Wolves VIP Halftime Show will feature a live interview with Sequim Middle School 7th-grade cross-country stars Elenor Jones and Emily Bair. Oly Archibald and Greg Thomas will have the play-by-play. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.
