Port Angeles – A special event is coming to Port Angeles that will celebrate the life dance instructor and mentor Mary Marcial, the late owner and founder of the Port Angeles Dance Center.
Marcial’s daughter, Adriana Marcial, is one of the organizers of the event called “Gather and Dance: A Day of Movement in Memory of Mary Marcial”. It’s a free, all-day event planned for Saturday, June 14.
“She passed away a year ago after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, and as part of our effort to honor her, we decided to host a full celebration of dance. And it’s day long set of classes in a variety of styles, and it’s all levels, all ages. And then the day will conclude with a short remembrance ceremony for anybody who would like to participate, and then an open reception that will actually have the Tuff Puffins, a local band, perform, which will be super fun.”
Beginning at 9:00am and ending at 10:00pm, classes and events will take place at two locations throughout the day. City Ballet of Port Angeles, 124 E. Front Street, and at the Masonic Temple on Lincoln Street downtown.
Classes will be in many styles and levels of experience, designed for small kids, all the way up to seniors.
