TSA ends shoes-off policy at SeaTac

The days of taking off your shoes to go through security at SeaTac Airport appear to be over.

The Associated Press noted that TSA officials have yet to formally announce the move, but Port of Seattle spokesperson Perry Cooper confirmed that the policy change went into effect on Monday of this week.

The TSA implemented the rule nationwide in 2006, several years after a British man, known since as the “shoe bomber,” unsuccessfully tried to use an explosive hidden in his shoe to blow up an American Airlines flight from Paris to Miami just months after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
