Clallam County election results

PORT ANGELES – Voters in Port Angeles are approving a proposal to raise sales taxes to pay for affordable housing. In the first vote count released Tuesday night,  53 percent said yes to raising the sales tax a tenth of a percent, while 47 percent voted no.
In contested races locally,  Charlie McCaughan easily defeated Doc Robinson 76 percent to 24 percent for a seat on the Port Angeles City Council. In a much closer race for PA council, Nina Napiontek is leading Navarra Carr 51 percent to 49 percent. Brenden Meyer is leading Martha Cunningham 52 percent to 47 percent.
For east-end Clallam County Commissioner, incumbent  Democrat Mark Ozias is leading Republican Bandon Janisse 53 to 46 percent or by about 400 votes.
Connie Beauvais has won another term on the Port of Port Angeles commission. Beuvais is defeating Maury Modine 64 to 36 percent.
Ann Marie Henninger has won a seat on the Olympic Medical Center board. Henninger is leading Nate Adkisson 65 percent to 35 percent.

Jean Hordyk has won another term on the OMC board, defeating Ted Bowen 70 percent to 30 percent.

Katie Marks has won a seat on the Port Angeles School Board. She is leading Arwen Rice with about 64 percent of the vote.

Sequim School District Board member Jim Stoffer has won relection. He leads Beth Smithson with just under 60 percent of the vote.
Steve Hopf has easily won election to the Clallam Fire District Two board with about 75 percent of the vote over Keith Cortner.
Clallam Fire District Three voters have overwhelmingly approved continuing its emergency medical services property tax levy with a 73 percent approval.
In race for a Fire District Three board position, Bill Miano is defeating incumbent James Barnfather with about 53 percent.
Voters in the Joyce Fire District have approved lifting the levy rate to $1.50 per thousand of assessed valuation with 63 percent saying yes.
