As socializing and testing increase here, Covid cases remain low

PORT ANGELES – There are two new positive cases of covid-19 in Clallam County to report today, for a total of 31. County Health Officer Dr. Allison Berry Unthank told KONP that one of the new cases is a boy under 10 years of age who was originally tested not because he was showing symptoms but because he had close contact with a previous case.

The other case is a man in his 60’s who Unthank says has been traveling and likely contracted covid-19 outside of the county.

All 5 active cases in Clallam County are recovering at home.

There have been 3417 tests administered in Clallam County and 31 positives, or under 1% rate of positive results, with no deaths.

Test kits for covid-19 are now available and recommended for anyone with even the mildest of symptoms. Contact your physician or Olympic Medical Center to find out more.
