CLALLAM COUNTY – The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a man suspected in the burglary of a home west of Port Angeles.
48-year-old Anthony Heckathorn is considered armed and dangerous after home surveillance footage shows him and his niece, 29-year-old Shayla Heckathorn, coming out of the home carrying armloads of items including firearms, a coin collection, jewelry, a silver serving set, and tools.
Shayla Heckathorn, taken into custody Friday, admitted to burglarizing the home with her uncle, telling Sheriff’s investigators the house belonged to a relative who they knew would not be home at the time. A search warrant was served on Shayla’s vehicle and hotel room where some of the stolen items were recovered.
A warrant was served at Mr. Heckathorn’s last known address but he was not there at the time. The Sheriff’s Office has probable causes to arrest Heckathorn for burglary, theft and unlawful possession of a firearm. A 2004 conviction for assault in the third degree prevents him from owning or possessing firearms.
He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, brown hair, green eyes.
The firearms have not been recovered therefore Heckathorn is considered armed and dangerous.
If you have any information on the location of Anthony Heckathorn, the guns, or any of the other stolen property, you are urged to contact the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
