CLALLAM COUNTY – The Sheriff’s Office, after asking for the public’s assistance in locating fugitive Justin Bryles, announced this afternoon that he had been located and is in custody.
Bryles failed to show up for his sentencing Thursday in Clallam County Superior Court and was slapped with a $100,000 warrant for his arrest. Chief Criminal Deputy Brian King told KONP that Bryles was found to have checked himself into rehab, unbeknownst to the Sheriff’s Office, prosecutors and his own attorney.
Bryles is facing several years in prison on multiple felony convictions for stealing vehicles, possession of stolen property, drugs and firearm convictions, plus eluding and trafficking in stolen property.
When he was arrested in January of 2020, a search of his residence on Lake Aldwell Road revealed multiple items of stolen property that included a Subaru Outback, two Kawasaki quads, a drift boat, a utility trailer, multiple firearms, chainsaws, and more. Items stolen from the 2019 Port Angeles Power Equipment burglary, in which a vehicle was driven through the front of the building, were also recovered.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Steve Johnson tells us he’ll be recommending Bryles serve a sentence of 8 years.
