6 of 9 Sequim Council applicants attend first public forum

By Pepper Fisher

SEQUIM – The Sequim Good Governance League held the first of 2 Zoom meetings last night designed to give residents a chance to meet and question applicants for the open seat on the Sequim City Council.

6 of the 9 applicants attended the 80-minute meeting. They are; Daryl Ness, Janine Bocciardi, Kathy Downer, Lowell Rathbun, Rachel Anderson, and Vicki Lowe.

The others, Autumn Wolfgang, Cynthia Dinan, and David Rich will have another chance on Tuesday, February 16 at 6:00.

One of the organizers, Karen Hogan, says over 60 people joined the meeting, which she believes has long been needed and differs greatly from what we hear from the City Council members during their Q&A sessions.

“This allows people to ask questions. We’ve set it to the City Council members. Whether they will pay attention to it is of course questionable. This was a much more lively, fleshed out, diverse image of Sequim.”

The event has been posted on YouTube.
