PORT ANGELES – Olympic Medical Center is getting more testing power for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
This week, the OMC Foundation presented $55,000 to Olympic Medical Center to buy more Biofire testing equipment. Biofire is used for COVID-19 and other diseases. Some of the money will also go for new radiation equipment that will serve urology, diagnostic imaging, and radiation oncology at the cancer center.
Executive Director Bruce Skinner says the foundation raised a record $97,000 during its recent Red, Set, Go event. He says the foundation has already raised or donated $319,000 this year to OMC. The latest comes after a record year for fundraising last year.
