Sequim PD sees leadership changes

SEQUIM – A longtime officer and leader in the Sequim Police Department has retired and another is being promoted.

Staff Sergeant Sean Madison retired the end of last month, after a 29-year career with the Sequim Police Department.  Police Chief Shari Crain says Madison was a key contributor to every major milestone the agency achieved, culminating in the department’s most recent re-Accreditation process last year.

As Madison moves on, another long-time sergeant is moving into the number two seat of leadership at the department.

Mike Hill has been promoted to Deputy Chief of Police.  Hill started his career at the Sequim Police Department as a volunteer Reserve Police Officer in 1998.  He was hired as a Police Officer fulltime in 2001.  Over the last 20 years, he has been assigned to patrol; was a K-9 officer; a patrol sergeant; and most recently served as the detective sergeant in charge of Investigations.  Hill will take over day to day command responsibilities for both the operations and administration functions of the police department.
