PORT ANGELES — The Bi District Volleyball tournament is set for Friday. #10 seed Port Angeles (11-7) takes on #15 seed Clover Park (6-11) at Franklin Pierce high school with the first serve at 11 am. The Roughriders must win to advance, and they would play the loser of the #2 seed Washington and #7 seed Foster match up at 1 pm.
The Sequim Wolves the #5 seed (12-4) take on #4 seed White River (15-2) at Franklin Pierce with the first serve at 3 pm. If the Wolves win, they will qualify for the State Tournament and would play Saturday at Sammamish high school at 1 pm. If the Wolves lose on Friday, they will play that night at 7 pm against the winner of the #13 seed North Mason- #12 seed Orting match up.

Sally Coles’ Roughrider swim team heads to Federal Way Thursday through Saturday for the state swim meet. The Roughriders had a great district meet, finishing 3rd out of 16 teams, trailing only Sammamish and finishing just 2 points behind 2nd place Enumclaw. The schedule for the state swim meets looks like this: Thursday at 1 pm will be the diving preliminaries. Friday at 12:30 pm will be the swim preliminaries. Saturday at 1:15 pm will be the swimming finals.

The NWAC announced the Women’s all Northern Division team and former Roughrider Millie Long was named the MVP. Long was named the MVP for basketball last Winter and Peninsula Athletic Director Rick Ross cannot remember an athlete being named MVP in two sports.

Also on the All-Conference team is Kenzie Banner, Chiaki Takase, Riley Sims and goalie Frida Markstrom. Honorable mentions went to Taya Bihenko, Kiielee Silva and Briana Jean Tanaka. Tomorrow, we will announce the Northern Division men’s team.
