Lauridsen Chip Seal Project to Begin This Week; Drivers Should Expect Delays

PORT ANGELES – Road work is set to begin this week on Lauridsen Boulevard and L Street as part of the Lauridsen Chip Seal Project.

Preparation work today with crews removing existing road markings. The chip sealing process will follow on Monday and is expected to wrap up by Tuesday next week.

During construction, drivers should expect alternating one-lane, two-way traffic along Lauridsen Boulevard and L Street, between Tumwater Truck Route and 18th Street. Travel delays of about five to ten minutes are possible.

Following the chip seal, a curing period will be required before permanent pavement markings are installed. That final striping is scheduled in about two weeks and will take one to two days to finish.
