Port Angeles – The body of a Port Angeles man was recovered by search teams on Saturday after he was reported missing around Christmas.
57-year-old David Chet Boyd was reported missing by a family member after not seeing or hearing from him for 4 or 5 days. Family members stated the last known contact with Boyd was on Saturday, December 20, saying that it was unusual for him to be out of contact. Boyd’s vehicle and phone were still at his home, and family members were concerned that he may have wandered into the nearby wooded area.
After Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies determined that he was not at a local hospital and behavioral health facility, a Search and Rescue mission was activated.
On the morning of December 27, Search and Rescue teams deployed to the N. Lee’s Creek Road area.
About one and a half hours into the search, Boyd was located deceased down a steep embankment near a creek bed.
Though investigators said no foul play is suspected, the investigation is ongoing.
