PORT ANGELES — The Sally Cole-coached Port Angeles Roughrider boys swim team continues to dominate, and this time the Bremerton Knights had no answer.
In their final home meet, the Roughriders cruised to a 142–41 win over Bremerton.
First-place finishes included the 200 freestyle relay team of Patrick Ross, Adam Kaminski, Edward Gillespie, and Miles Van Denburg; the 400 freestyle relay team of Thomas Jones, Isaac Meek, Jebow Nabua, and Jack Root; and the medley relay team of Thomas Jones, Edward Gillespie, Miles Van Denburg, and Patrick Ross.
Individually, Miles Van Denburg won both the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
Adam Kaminski captured first in the 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.
Thomas Jones won the 50 freestyle.
Edward Gillespie took first in the breaststroke.
Cliff Hales won the 50 freestyle.
Liam Sholinder finished first in diving.
The Roughriders head to Poulsbo Saturday morning for the Olympic League meet, which gets underway at 7:30.

In high school basketball action tonight, Port Angeles travels to Sequim, with the girls tipping off at 5:15 and the boys at 7:00.

Former Roughrider and Peninsula Pirate Millie Long and the Fresno State Bulldogs host Air Force tomorrow afternoon in Fresno, with a 3:00 tip-off. Fresno State is 10–12 overall and 4–7 in Mountain West play. Long has started all 23 games this season, averaging 31 minutes, 13 points, and 4 rebounds per game. She’s shooting 43 percent from the field, 34 percent from three-point range, and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
KONP Newsradio basketball broadcasts begin in February. The first broadcast comes next Tuesday night as the Roughrider boys host top-ranked Bremerton. The Roughriders are expected to play seven district games between February 14th and 21st, with KONP carrying at least six of them. Both the boys and girls could be playing at the same time on the 21st, which may create a scheduling conflict.
Three Wednesday night Peninsula home games will also be broadcast. Greg Thomas will handle play-by-play, with Kylar McCaslin, Joe Gladfelter, and Dustin Clark providing color commentary and game analysis.
