PORT ANGELES — The board of Olympic Medical Center is set to interview seven candidates next week as it works to fill a vacant commissioner seat created by the death of longtime board member John Nutter late last year.
Board President Phil Giuntoli announced at an OMC board meeting this week, the interviews will take place during a special meeting this Wednesday at 1 p.m.
“We have a set list of questions which we’ve given those candidates to prepare for the interview. We are anticipating, following the interviews — which I think run all the way to four o’clock or so — we’re going to recuse ourselves and we’re going to talk about the candidates in general. We will make no decisions in private. We will come back in public and nominate and vote on various candidates,” said Giuntoli
Nutter, who had served on the hospital board since 2009, died last December after a sudden illness. That left an unexpired term that state law requires the remaining commissioners to fill through a public appointment process.
