Head-On Crash Near Palo Alto Road Sends One to Hospital

SEQUIM — One person was injured and another driver was arrested following a head-on collision on Highway 101 near Sequim Monday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened just after 8:15 p.m. on Highway 101 near Palo Alto Road, east of Sequim.

Troopers say an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle head-on.

The eastbound driver, 25-year-old Greta L. Tradal of Sequim, was not injured but was arrested at the scene. The State Patrol reports drugs or alcohol were involved, and Tradal now faces charges of DUI and vehicular assault.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, 46-year-old Amanda R. Crum of Sequim, was injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center. A 9-year-old passenger in Crum’s vehicle was not injured. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Both vehicles were totaled. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
