To kick off the countdown to America’s 250th anniversary, the New Dungeness Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) and George Washington Speaks are proud to announce a community Trivia Night fundraiser. The event invites history buffs, patriots, and trivia fans to an evening of spirited competition on March 28 at 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, Sequim.
This special “America250” event celebrates the upcoming Semiquincentennial of the United States while supporting a vital local landmark. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the New Dungeness Light Station Association (NDLSA) for their urgent roof replacement fund.
An Evening of History and Impact
The event features a unique blend of education and entertainment:
• Themed Trivia: Rounds will cover the American Revolution and Olympic Peninsula history.
• Special Guest: Historical interpreter Vern Frykholm of George Washington Speaks will bring the spirit of our first president to the evening, and host the trivia games.
• Silent Auction: Items include a three-night stay in Victoria, B.C. in July, several pieces of art, and a variety of themed baskets. Cash or check only.
• Community Support: Part of the funds raised will help ensure the historic New Dungeness Lighthouse—one of the oldest in the Northwest—remains protected from the elements for future generations.
“We are thrilled to partner with George Washington Speaks to celebrate our nation’s journey toward its 250th year,” said Mona Kinder, Vice-Regent of the New Dungeness Chapter NSDAR and event chair. “By coming together for a night of fun and facts, we aren’t just looking back at history; we are actively preserving it by supporting the New Dungeness Light Station.”
