Port Angeles – Two area men are in custody on burglary charges after being surrounded while in an empty home.

On the morning of Tuesday, March 17, the caretaker of a vacant home in the 1000 block of W. Pollow Road reported seeing a suspect on the home’s surveillance system who appeared to be actively burglarizing the residence.

Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies, with the assistance of Port Angeles Police Officers, responded to the scene and quickly established containment around the home.

They soon confirmed that suspects were inside the home after hearing movement and seeing one of the men at a window. After being instructed to come out of the house, 44-year-old Mark Keend and 43-year-old Joshua Wilson were taken into custody without incident by Clallam County Deputies.

The investigation revealed that Keend and Wilson had forced entry into the vacant home and loaded items into bags for removal.

Both men have prior criminal histories, including multiple felony convictions related to burglary, theft, possession of stolen property, and attempting to elude law enforcement. Wilson is also a registered sex offender.
