LOCAL SPORTS: Roughriders Fall in Tennis, Sequim Baseball Stays Perfect in League Play

PORT ANGELES — In tennis action, Port Angeles had a couple of competitive matches at North Kitsap, but the state powerhouse Vikings came away with a 6-1 win.
Cayleigh Alward earned the Roughriders’ lone victory with a strong 6-1, 6-1 performance.
Alysson Larsen fell 1-6, 1-6, and Audrey Rudd lost 0-6, 0-6.  In doubles play, Rylie Medley and Allison Fricker lost 5-7, 0-6.
Jules Getzin and Leilah Franich fell 1-6, 2-6.
Brylie Martin and Ivy Powless lost 0-6, 0-6, while Keira Brown and Cate Chance battled in a tough match before falling 4-6, 6-7, 3-7.

The Roughriders travel to Olympic today, with first serve at 4:00.

In baseball, the red-hot Sequim Wolves improved to 3-0 in Olympic League play with a 6-4 win at North Mason.
Sequim travels to Kingston today for a 4:00 first pitch.

Port Angeles fell at Bainbridge 11-6.
The Roughriders head to Foss tomorrow for a noon start.

In soccer tonight, Sequim hosts Olympic at 7:00.

In softball, Sequim hosts Bremerton at 5:00, while Port Angeles hosts Kingston at 4:15.

In golf, the Port Angeles boys topped Kingston 160 to 201.
Cale Wentz and Sky Gelder each shot 38.
Noah Myers finished with a 40, Max Gagnon a 44, Kolby Charles a 46, and Tristen Grantham shot a 50.
