PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles’ new city manager has a lot of staff positions to fill.
Nathan West took aver the top staff spot a month ago. He is faced with filling 20 open spots on his staff. Most of them came from retirements and a few people who moved from the area.
West says although it’s tough to fill that many positions, he welcomes it as a fresh start for his tenure as city manager.
Many of the positions are in senior-level positions. The city just recently promoted Alysson Brekke to be the new economic and community development director, West’s former position.
West has also brought back James Burke to head the public works department. They area still seeking other positions such as a finance director and someone to head the senior center.
