Today, on the morning Scramble, we have a lot of giggles about a serious topic.  October is right around the corner and with it comes, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  TODAY, however, is WORLD Dense Breast Day.  Ladies...and men...please schedule your mammograms if you haven't had one yet this year.  Early detection...should there be anything wrong...is the BEST defense! We love our radio listeners...and that means you too!

In other breast news...to make the marinade that Amanda talked about this morning, use your emulsion blender to mix the Garlic and the Basil Infused Olive Oils with the Oregano White Balsamic Vinegar.  Brush it on your chicken (in this case a whole body chicken) and then season with salt, pepper, paprika, basil, and garlic powder.  Cook on 425 for 40 minutes (which will help sear in the juices and brown that birdie up nice, and then lower the heat to 350 until cooked through.  MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

1st Segment - Clallam County Extension works on every part of the food system, and our Community Health program focuses on healthy food distribution and food access, talking today about Farm to Food Bank and Farm to School Programs.

Farm to Food Bank: Creating local wholesale opportunities for local farms to sell produce to food banks, where it is distributed fresh or processed into healthy products.

Farm to School: Our Farm to School Program works with low-income school districts across Clallam and Jefferson Counties to provide support to school garden projects, local sourcing for school meal programs and facilitation other place-based education programming for school district students.  Click HERE to learn more.
