Um...this man has been singing for quite some time now...and...in all honesty...NEEDS TO SING EVEN MORE!  His voice is still sheer perfection and his new Christmas Album is FANTASTIC!  I have had it on repeat in my car since I downloaded it.  Besides being mega talented, he is also just so sweet and down to earth.  I had such a great time chatting with him about music and the reason that this album is so special to him.  Seriously...go download the album. :)

Music legend Mickey Thomas, known for his unforgettable vocals on Starship hits and Elvin Bishop's timeless classic "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," released his first Christmas album, "A Classic Christmas," on November 15. With an illustrious career spanning decades, Thomas delivers soulful and nostalgic renditions of beloved holiday songs, bringing a fresh, heartfelt approach to festive classics that fans old and new can enjoy. "I've always wanted to record a Christmas album, and this is the fulfillment of that dream," Thomas shares. "These songs are the soundtrack to my own childhood holidays, and I wanted to stay true to the originals while putting my own spin on the vocals. Known worldwide for his soaring voice on Starship's "We Built This City," "Sara," and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," Thomas also brought Jefferson Starship fans timeless rock anthems like "Jane," "No Way Out," "Stranger," "Find Your Way Back," and "Layin' It On The Line." His tenure as lead singer for The Elvin Bishop Band produced the 1976 hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," a track many don't realize was driven by Thomas' powerful, soulful vocals. Now, his journey through rock's greatest hits continues with a holiday twist in 'A Classic Christmas.'

The album, produced by Dan Frizsell and recorded in Nashville, showcases Thomas's iconic voice on cherished holiday tunes, including "White Christmas," "The Christmas Song," and "Silver Bells." Collaborating with Nashville's finest musicians, Thomas brings rich instrumentation and warmth to these tracks, making each one a memorable, feel-good experience that encapsulates the holiday spirit.

ABOUT MICKEY THOMAS

 

Mickey Thomas is widely recognized for his work with Starship, delivering chart-topping hits throughout the 1980s. Before joining Starship, Thomas made his mark as the lead vocalist for The Elvin Bishop Band, singing on the hit single "Fooled Around and Fell in Love." Thomas' tenure with Starship led to massive success with tracks like "We Built This City," "Sara," and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," from the film, Mannequin, which also was an Academy Award nominee. Their hit "It's Not Over 'Til It's Over" became Major League Baseball's theme in 1987. His powerful vocals and video presence helped define the MTV era, making him one of rock's most enduring voices. MORGAN KOHAN BIO

Born and raised in British Columbia, Kohan spent her childhood dancing competitively. Her focus quickly shifted to acting once she was accepted into the Triple Threat program at Randolph Academy in Toronto. Upon graduating, she set her sights on film and television. Since then, Kohan has quickly risen in the industry. Kohan's starring film projects have been screened across North America, including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Whistler International Film Festival and Fantasia Film Festival. Kohan is most recognized for her work as a lead character in the Hallmark original series "When Hope Calls." Other television credits include guest starring and recurring roles in Netflix's YA series "Creeped Out," "Star Trek: Discovery," "The Bold Type" and "Kim's Convenience." She had a major recurring role in "Ransom." She was also featured in "Batwoman" and "Transplant."
