Meanwhile, in the West Bank

Last fall Port Townsend resident Bob Alei spent five weeks doing “protective presence” with Palestinian families in the West Bank. The work involved spending time with Palestinians to document incidents of settler attacks and harassment. He worked in three contexts – the urban setting of Al Khalil (Hebron), with Bedouin families in small villages in the Jordan Valley, and helping a farmer harvest olives near the village of Bourin. While news reports have focused on Gaza, understanding what’s going on in the West Bank is critical to finding solutions.
He will present a first hand account of his experiences, along with time for discussion:
