Curt Menefee.  He’s an award-winning veteran studio and sports broadcaster on FOX NFL Sunday, host of two fantastic shows on A&E, An Animal Saved My Life, and America’s Top Dog, and a super nice guy!  He began his career at FOX Sports in 1997 as a sideline reporter and later moved to the game booth to call play by play for NFL and NFL Europe League coverage on FOX Sports and FSN.  Through his work at WNYW FOX5 and MSG in New York, Menefee established himself as one of the Big Apple’s most popular sportscasters.  Menefee has received several awards for his sports anchoring and reporting, including the Associated Press Award for Best Sports Reporter in New York and four Katie Awards (the Texas equivalent of an Emmy) for Best Sportscaster and Best Sports Special.

It was my joy and pleasure to chat with the amazing, Mr. Curt Menefee.

OH Sherman...

Jamie Lee Curtis.  She is an actress, producer, director, inventor and author.  She is a recovering alcoholic and addict, and is an advocate for children, animals and the environment.  Jamie is an outspoken activist, an amateur photographer and apparently invented Instagram.  She also happens to be the daughter of Hollywood Legends, Mr. Tony Curtis and Ms. Janet Leigh. Jamie also has two grown children with her husband of 36 years, the brilliant Christopher Guest.

When she’s not making blockbuster movies or running from Michael Myers, you’ll find her working on her new podcast on iheart Radio, “Good Friend”.  (Click HERE for a link to her podcast) And that’s what we got to chat about today.  I hope you enjoy my interview, with MY new “Good Friend”, the one and only Ms. Jamie Lee Curtis.

When Nicole Lynn was a little girl, living in poverty and wishing for someone to come rescue her and her brother, she could have never dreamed of the success she would create for herself when she was older.  Her first stop was becoming a wildly successful Wall Street financial analyst, then an attorney who graduated top of her class, and then her dream job…an agent.  Not just any agent, the first Black FEMALE agent to represent a Top 3 NFL draft pick.  In her new book, “Agent You”, Nicole answers some of life’s most challenging questions, like how to prepare for the moment in life when opportunity presents itself, and how to know when the right time is to take calculated risks.  She is quoted as saying, “The adversity I experienced as a child definitely shaped my mindset as an adult. I knew that I wanted to escape that life, and I had to work hard to do it.  So I have always done just that.  I owe every bit of success I’ve achieved to my extremely dedicated work ethic and my unwavering faith in God.”

Howdy!  Thanks for listening to Bacon Bits, I am your Bit of Bacon…Amanda.  One of the things that I have enjoyed most about doing this, besides talking to my childhood idols like Bonnie Tyler and being told “I love you” by legends like Tony Orlando, is talking to people.  All of the people.  People who are new to my attention, and people who have held my attention for years.  People ask HOW I get to talk to these people, and truth is that I am signed up with a company that helps facilitate them.  They send out a blast email to their affiliates announcing WHO is going on a radio tour, and give us the chance to sign up.  As you can imagine, there is stiff competition when signing up for these as people all over the nation are vying for time with these incredible people.  And ALL of them have been incredible.  After I submit my request, I wait patiently until I receive an email from them saying… “We can give you 7 minutes with so an so on such and such a date”.  I LOVE those emails.  In fact, I’ve established a bit of a sweet relationship with the big wigs on the other end of the line who call and introduce me to my guest, and I’m usually just as excited to hear from them as I am the Movie/TV/Author/Singer star I’m on the line to interview.

Two of those people who are now securely on my radar, are Anna Seregina and Kyle Mizono.  Best friends and hosts of the new podcast Truth Hounds.  Anna and “girl” Kyle as she is known on Comedy Central, have decided to investigate the smallest, most insignificant mysteries known to mankind.  Like why are some people always late?  And why does it feel so good to reveal a secret?  As women in a male dominated business, Anna, Kyle and I really connected, and I have a feeling, will be hearing more from each other in the future.  Here is my interview with the hilarious and adorable, Anna and Kyle…Truth Hounds.
