PORT ANGELES – Nearly 60% of voters in Clallam County have already cast their ballots.

According to statistics from the Clallam County Auditor’s office, just over 34-thousand of the 57-thousand ballots mailed out for the general election had been returned by yesterday afternoon. That’s a return rate of just over 59%, and is slighty ahead of the statewide return rate at just over 56% through yesterday.

Voters have five days to get ballots returned to an official ballot drop box or postmarked.

You can still register to vote through election day. That must be done in person at the Clallam County Auditor’s office at the courthouse. The auditor has set up a table outside her office, which is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, to help people register.
