PORT ANGELES – An arrest has been made following a month-long arson investigation in Port Angeles.

26-year-old Tristan Newman was arrested Wednesday for a series of dumpster and garbage can fires that began in March, all of them in alleys between First and Front Streets.

Officer Herald Balderson took Newman into custody after a brief struggle. Newman was booked into the jail for one count of Arson, two counts of Reckless Burning, and also for an unrelated arrest warrant.

These cases are under review by the prosecutor.
