SEQUIM – One of the 5 candidates for Sequim City Manager has dropped out. HR Director Emily Stednick says Patrick Comiskey removed himself from consideration over “scheduling conflicts”. Whether that means he is applying with other cities or not is unknown.

That leaves Interim City Manager Charisse Deschenes, Jeff Durbin from Frisco, Colorado, Matt Huish from Sandy, Utah, and Joe Lessard from Austin, Texas in the running.

Huish and Lessard are in town today getting a tour of the city with City staff. Durbin is due to arrive Thursday morning.

Councilmembers will spend much of Thursday conducting private, 1-on-1 interviews with each of the candidates.

After that the public will have a chance to meet the candidates and ask questions in a Zoom meeting that starts at 6:00pm.

Friday is the day that the council is expected to spend most of the day in executive session conducting panel interviews with the candidates and discussing amongst themselves their qualifications. They are planning to emerge sometime between 3:00 and 4:30 and make a decision on who will be the next Sequim City Manager.
