PORT ANGELES – The Clallam County Public Health Department says it’s time to transition from an emergency response to the pandemic to a more sustainable and long-term approach to monitoring and reporting virus data.

Health Officer Dr. Allison Berry announced Wednesday they have streamlined their COVID-19 case data reporting on the County’s website, and they’ve shifted to a weekly instead of a daily report. Staff will continue the important business of compiling the data people need to assess their own risk and make informed choices, but Berry believes that shifting to once-a-week reporting will allow staff to return more of attention to their other public health programs.

The weekly report began Tuesday this week because of the Juneteenth holiday, but will be published each Monday except in the event of a holiday.

In addition to a shift to weekly reporting, data now appears on a dashboard designed with new, interactive software.
