PORT ANGELES — In high school tennis action, Port Angeles had competitive play from Sequim as the Roughriders knocked off the Wolves 5-2. In singles, it was Garrett Little over C.J.Elliott 6-1; 6-0. It was Lincoln Bear over Carter Gundersen 7-6; 6-1.

Sky Gelder beat Jack Cresilius 6-3; 6-3. In doubles action, Nathan Basden and Matthew Miller beat Tom Laschet and William Hughes 6-4; 6-0. Luke Flodstrom and Tate Alton won over Hunter Tennell and Sebastián Buhrer 6-0 6-2. Reid Schmidt and Keatyn Hoch beat Mason Rapolje and Isaac McKeen 6-0; 6-1. Austin Worthington and Grant Butterworth beat Ryan Stiles and Zach Port 6-2; 6-1.

The Roughriders host Kingston today at 4 pm and Sequim travels to Bremerton.

In swimming action, the Roughriders out swam East Jefferson 140-38, winning all 12 events. First-place finishers were Harper McGuire; 200 Free style and the 50 free style; Amayah Nelson the 200 intermediate and the 500 Free style; Yau Fu Diving. Chloe Kay-Sanders 100 Butterfly; Danika Asgeirsson 100 Free style; Brooke St Luise 100 Backstroke. Harper qualified for state in the 200 Free style. In the 200 Medley Relay it was Lynzee Reid, Brooke St Luise, Amayah Nelson and Lizzy Shaw. In the 200 Free style relay it was Lizzy Shaw, Yau Fu, Danika Asgeirsson and Harper McGuire. In the 400 Free style relay it was Lizzy Shaw, Danika Asgeirsson, Yau Fu and Harper McGuire.

In middle school football action, Sequim is now 4-0 with a 50-14 blowout of Port Townsend. Dominick Johnson scored 3 touchdowns and had a pick 6.

Clayton Ernst scored a touchdown and Luke O’Hara had an outstanding game.

Stevens beat Forks 8-0 to go 2-2 on the season. Lalo Dominquez scored the only touchdown. Ben Clemens made a game saving interception and the Stamps got great defensive games from Riley Arnold, Anthony Daveiga and Liam Nicholson.

There is soccer action tonight the Sequim Wolves who are now ranked 10th in the state by the RPI rankings host Olympic at 6:45 pm. North Mason travels to Port Angeles for a 7:15 start.

In volleyball action Port Angeles is at North Mason for a 6:45 first serve and Olympic is at Sequim with the first serve at 6:15 pm.

In high school football action tomorrow night, the Roughriders host a tough 5-1 Bainbridge Spartan team for Homecoming. You can hear the live action on KONP with the “Dustin Clark Show” at 5:30 pm followed by the “Roughrider Locker Room Show” featuring Roughrider senior kicker Alejandro Martinez Jr. and junior Blake Sohlberg.
