PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles City Manager Nathan West has rescinded the Stage III Water Shortage Declaration, effectively immediately. That means all restrictions as set out in the City’s Water Shortage Response Plan have been lifted.

The Stage III Water Shortage was declared on September 11 in response to critically low water levels in the Elwha River, our primary source of drinking water.

West said a careful review of current water levels and forecasted weather conditions by staff indicates that water shortage restrictions are no longer necessary. Water levels have improved significantly, standing steadily at or above around 1,200 CFS and remaining above levels which would cause concern.
