PORT ANGELES — A Clallam County PUD commissioner has died.

Jim Waddell died earlier this week at the age of 70. He had been battling pancreatic cancer.

Waddell served District Three for the PUD, which runs from Port Angeles to the west end of Clallam County.

He was elected to the PUD in 2018.

He also was the founder of DamSense, which was a group lobbying for the removal of hydroelectric dams on the Snake River.

Waddell was a civil engineer by trade. He was with the US Army Corp of Engineers for 35 years.
