FORKS, Wash. – A 4-month-old child is in the hospital with broken bones and a 21-year-old Forks man is in jail on an assault charge.

On Tuesday, March 26, Deputies from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by Children’s Protective Services in Forks for an investigation of suspected child abuse. C.P.S. had received information that a four-month-old child had been brought to the Forks Community Hospital on March 23 by a caregiver with significant injuries. Forks emergency room doctors determined the child suffered from a brain bleed, a fractured femur and fractured rib.

The child was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where emergency room doctors determined the child’s injuries were caused by non-accidental trauma.

During the investigation, Clallam County detectives developed probably cause that 21-year-old Elijah Tabor had caused the injuries to the child.

On April 1st, Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tabor for Assault 2nd Degree and booked him into the Clallam County Jail.
