SEQUIM — Firefighters from Clallam County Fire District 3 and the Department of Natural Resources swiftly responded to a series of slash pile fires ignited by wind on Monday, April 15 about 4:17 p.m. The incident occurred near the 600 block of Norris Road and quickly spread over an area spanning about two acres.

Upon arrival, Clallam County Fire District 3 dispatched two fire engines and two water tenders to the scene to contain the blaze. Subsequently, control of the firefighting efforts was transferred to the Department of Natural Resources firefighters to ensure effective management of the situation.
