PORT ANGELES — The high school baseball district tournament is ready to roll, and the 8th-ranked Roughriders (17-5) received great news, as they’ll host the 13th-ranked Fife Trojan team (14-7) on Tuesday at Civic Field. The first pitch is set for 4:00 PM.

The Trojans, the 2nd place team from the always tough South Puget Sound League, scored at least 10 runs in 7 games and at least 20 runs in 3 games. They faced the state’s #1 ranked Enumclaw Hornets twice, losing 7-6 and 5-3.

The winner punches their ticket to the state tournament and will play a doubleheader at Silverdale on Saturday, with game times at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The loser will host the winner of the Sequim (10-11) vs. Tyee (12-5) game on Wednesday in a loser-out match.

You can catch the Port Angeles vs. Fife game on KONP Newsradio, with the Firehouse Grill pre-game show starting at 3:45 PM. Oly Archibald and Joe Gladfelter will provide the play-by-play.
