LA PUSH — A single-vehicle accident on SR110 near Three Rivers Road Saturday morning resulted in the death of a 62-year-old woman. According to the Washington State Patrol, Teresa E. Payne, from La Push, WA, was driving westbound on SR110 when her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a large tree root. The vehicle then rolled and came to rest in the center of the road.

The incident occurred around 7:27 AM on Saturday. Emergency responders transported Payne to Forks Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. It was reported that Payne was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, with preliminary findings indicating that the vehicle crossed the centerline. It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
