SEQUIM – The owner of a gun shop robbed in brazen fashion earlier this month is offering a reward for the arrests of those involved.

The owner of Fred’s Guns say they’ll pay $5000 for anyone that provides information leading to the “expedient” arrests of the people involved.

The store, along Highway 101 in Carlsborg, was the scene of a heavy-handed break-in April 13th when someone drove a stolen piece of heavy machinery through the front security door and stole guns and ammunition.

Investigators say a large, telescoping loader was stolen from Leitz Farms hay yard, across the highway and about a half-mile west from Fred’s Guns. The loader was later found on Cassidy Creek Road about two miles from the gun shop.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms has taken over the investigation. ATF officials will not comment on the investigation only that they are reviewing security video footage and other evidence, including blood evidence thought to be from the thief.

So far, no arrests have been made.
