SEATTLE – Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following his dominant performance on Monday Night Football.

Clowney finished with one sack, five tackles, five quarterback hits, one forced fumble and recovered one fumble for a touchdown in the Seahawks’ 27-24 overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers

In 10 games this season, Clowney has recorded three sacks, 12 quarterback hits, has forced three fumbles and has two defensive touchdowns.

The Seahawks acquired Clowney in a trade with the Houston Texans just before Week 1 of the regular season.

Clowney was originally the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft after starring at University of the South Carolina.

The three-time Pro Bowler will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.
