PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles Mayor Sissi Bruch has been splitting her time between her duties with the city and her position as Senior Planner for the Lower Elwha Tribe, but that’s about to end.

Bruch told KONP that she turned in a letter of resignation to the Tribe on Thursday.

Bruch was elected to the council in 2012 and is barely 6 months into her two-year term as Mayor. We asked her if she saw the recent spate of city and county officials who are either retiring or resigning this year as an opportunity for fresh ideas and enthusiasm in local politics:

The Nathan she mentioned is Community and Economic Development Director Nathan West, who is being considered to replace Dan McKeen as City Manager, who retires this year.

Bruch says her time with the tribe is expected to be over by the end of June.
