PORT ANGELES – Veteran’s Memorial Park, next to the County Courthouse in Port Angeles, has been the site of frequent vandalism and other illegal activity that seems to be increasing lately. Veterans and others aired their concerns at a recent City Council meeting, which Parks and Rec Director Corey Delikat says has led to the formation of a committee to address the problems.

Possible solutions discussed at the first meeting of the committee include installing fencing around the memorial bell and its structure, along with the addition of lighting and security cameras. Delikat says he’ll be working on cost estimates prior to next meeting, which will be sometime in January.
