Wahkiakum County – A Sequim couple was involved in a head-on collision that caused them both to be airlifted with serious injuries and left their motorcycle riding partners dead.

Wayne and Brenda Priest of Sequim were riding double on their motorcycle, along with Vancouver residents William Neudorfer and his passenger Patricia Neudorfer, Saturday afternoon on State Route 4 in Cathlamet.

22-year old Branson Myers of Longview, driving a Dodge Ram pickup, crossed the center line and struck both motorcycles head-on, killing Mr and Mrs. Neudorfer instantly.

The Priest’s, who’s motorcycle was thrown to the shoulder, suffered severe injuries and were airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash, but it’s believed that Myers fell asleep at the wheel. He faces charges of Negligent Driving 2nd Degree.
